The Report of Activities (Calendar Year 2025) of the C. H. Mohammed Koya Chair for Studies on Developing Societies, University of Calicut presents a comprehensive overview of the Chair's academic, cultural, and public engagement initiatives conducted throughout the year.
During 2025, the Chair organized 26 programmes, including public lectures, seminars, workshops, Meet the Scholar sessions, film screenings, colloquia, boot camps, and training programmes. These events addressed a wide range of themes such as politics, democracy, history, local governance, Arabimalayalam studies, secularism, social justice, human rights, rural development, mental health, science, and cultural heritage. The programmes featured distinguished scholars, public intellectuals, legal experts, elected representatives, and cultural practitioners from across India, fostering academic dialogue and interdisciplinary research. Collaborative initiatives with universities, research institutions, and civil society organizations further strengthened the Chair's commitment to promoting critical scholarship and public engagement.
This report highlights the Chair's continued efforts to advance research, encourage intellectual exchange, preserve cultural heritage, and contribute meaningfully to discussions on contemporary social and developmental issues
