Report on the Activities of the Chair during the Calendar Year 2023

Abdul Khadar. K.P(Director) · 1 January 2023

This Annual Report presents the academic and outreach activities undertaken by the C.H. Mohammed Koya Chair for Studies on Developing Societies during the 2023 calendar year. Established in 2011, the Chair is dedicated to promoting research, documentation, and public engagement on issues concerning developing societies, particularly minorities, Dalits, and tribal communities. Its mission includes organizing seminars, lectures, workshops, publications, and collaborative research initiatives to support social development and inclusive knowledge production.

During 2023, the Chair successfully organized a series of scholarly lectures, commemorative events, documentary releases, and "Meet the Scholar" programmes featuring distinguished academics, researchers, policymakers, and public intellectuals. These initiatives addressed themes such as Islamic scholarship, migration, democratic values, Kerala's socio-political history, and cultural heritage, fostering meaningful academic dialogue and community engagement.
